How long do you wait for a bespoke kitchen? A realistic schedule from measuring to installation
"How long does it take?" — this was the second question that came up in our factory after "how much does it cost?". And, as with prices — most companies answer vaguely. "A few weeks." "It depends on the project." "We'll get back to you after the quote."
We prefer a different way. Below is a concrete schedule — stage by stage, with realistic time ranges — based on hundreds of projects over more than 20 years of production. No embellishment, no optimistic assumptions, no glossing over what can delay the deadline.
A short answer for the impatient
From the first contact to a finished kitchen: 6–10 weeks in a standard case.
From signing the contract to installation: 3–6 weeks (production time alone).
What can lengthen this time — and what depends on you — we describe below.
Stage 1 — First contact and consultation (1–3 days)
It starts with a phone call, an email or a form. Our advisor usually calls back the same working day — the next at the latest.
In the first conversation we establish the basics: kitchen dimensions, style, budget, an approximate deadline. If you already have a floor plan with wall measurements and angles — great. If not — we'll tell you what to measure.
At this stage you sign nothing and pay nothing.
Stage 2 — 3D design (3–7 working days)
Based on the dimensions given and your preferences we prepare a 3D visualisation design. You see exactly how the kitchen will look — with the choice of front colour, worktop, fittings and lighting.
We send the design by email or discuss it at a meeting in Elbląg. If you want changes — we make them and send a revised version. On average there are 1–2 rounds of corrections.
How long it takes in total: 3–10 working days, depending on the number of corrections and the complexity of the design.
A common mistake: customers come back to the design after 2–3 weeks with a changed decision on colour or layout. That is their right — but it lengthens the whole schedule by that time. If you want the kitchen ready for a specific date, it is worth making a decision promptly.
Stage 3 — Measuring (up to a week after design approval)
Once the design is approved, we arrange a measuring visit — we come to you with professional measuring instruments. We measure every wall, angle, distance between windows and pipes. We check the verticality and levelness of the floor.
This is a key stage — we adapt the design to reality, not the other way round. That is why we do the measuring in person, even if the customer lives in the Tri-City.
The visit takes 30–60 minutes. We travel to Gdańsk, Gdynia, Sopot and the surrounding area — with no additional call-out charges as part of the quote.
After measuring you sign the contract and pay a deposit. Only from that moment does the production time start to run.
Stage 4 — Production (3–6 weeks)
The technical documentation from the measuring goes to the production department in our factory in Elbląg. Here the time is the most predictable — and we usually keep to it.
What does production involve?
- Preparing the technical documentation and the cutting list
- Cutting the boards to size
- Edging the edges
- Routing and drilling holes for hinges and fittings
- Lacquering the fronts (if lacquered) — several coats with curing between them
- Assembling the elements and quality control
- Packing for transport
What can lengthen production?
- A non-standard lacquer colour — ordering a special shade outside the standard palette can add 5–7 working days to bring in the lacquer.
- A large order — a kitchen of 8+ linear metres means more elements, more time for lacquering and assembly.
- The holiday period — December and August are months with longer production times at all manufacturers. If you want a kitchen for Christmas, the order should reach us by October at the latest.
Stage 5 — Delivery and installation (1–2 days)
When production is ready, we arrange an installation date. We deliver the furniture directly to the customer.
The installation itself is usually 1 working day for a standard kitchen of 4–6 linear metres. Kitchens with an island, ceiling-height units or non-standard elements may require 2 days.
What should you prepare before installation?
- Free space in the kitchen — old furniture removed or moved out
- Ready water/sewage and electrical connections in their final positions
- A finished floor (tiles or panels before installation)
- Access to the stairwell or lift — with large kitchens the elements are big
The most common delay at this stage: the customer didn't finish in time with the plumber or electrician. If the connections are not ready — we have to postpone the installation, and the slot in the production queue is lost. It is worth planning this in advance.

When the time is shorter, when longer
When it goes faster than 6 weeks
- The design is simple and the customer makes decisions promptly
- The front colour is from our standard palette
- A deadline outside the season (February–March, October–November)
- The customer has connections ready and a free slot for installation right after production
When it takes longer than 8 weeks
- Many rounds of design corrections or a change of decision after signing the contract
- A non-standard lacquer colour
- An order placed in December or July–August
- The customer does not have the connections ready on installation day — the date shifts
Frequently asked questions about timing
Can I order a kitchen and have it in 2 weeks?
In exceptional cases — yes, if the design is simple, laminated fronts from the standard palette, and we have free production capacity. But we do not promise this as standard. An honest plan is 5–6 weeks minimum from signing the contract.
Can I order now and set the installation date for 3 months' time?
Yes, and this is a sensible approach — especially if you are planning a renovation, waiting for building work to finish or moving to a new flat. We can produce the kitchen and hold the delivery until an agreed date.
Is the deadline in the contract guaranteed?
Yes — we give production deadlines with a 5-day safety buffer. Over 20 years we have had delays, but we always inform the customer in advance and offer compensation.
I live in Gdańsk — will you come for installation?
Yes. We serve the whole Tri-City — Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot. The cost of transport is included in the price. The installation team comes from Elbląg and carries out the installation in one day.
