Kitchen manufacturer in Elbląg — why buying straight from the factory is cheaper

When customers ask us about the price, I often hear the same sentence: "At a furniture showroom they quoted me a similar kitchen at PLN 45,000. With you it's cheaper — where does the difference come from?" The answer is simple and worth knowing before you decide where to order.

Kitchen manufacturer in Elbląg — the Furnipark Kitchen Factory

Furnipark is a bespoke kitchen factory with over 20 years' experience. We produce in Elbląg and sell directly to the end customer — with no distributors, no chain of showrooms, no additional trade margin. In this article we explain exactly where the difference in price comes from and what specifically you gain by ordering from the manufacturer.

How does the sales chain for kitchen furniture work?

Before we get into the numbers, it is worth understanding how furniture from a traditional furniture showroom reaches you in the first place.

The traditional model (furniture showroom)

A typical distribution chain looks like this:

  1. Manufacturer / factory — makes the furniture and sells it with a margin to a distributor or directly to a chain of showrooms. At this stage the price already rises by the manufacturer's profit.
  2. Regional distributor (not always, but often) — an intermediary between the factory and the showrooms; add another margin of 15–25%.
  3. Furniture showroom — the shop that buys the kitchen from the distributor or manufacturer, displays it in the showroom and sells it to you with its own mark-up. It has to cover the costs: rent of the premises, staff, display, advertising, after-sales service.
  4. You — you pay the final price, which includes the margins of all the links above.

The direct model (manufacturer = Furnipark)

With us the chain looks different:

  1. Furnipark Factory — we design, produce and install.
  2. You — you are our customer, not the customer of a middleman.

We eliminate at least two links from the traditional chain. Each of them costs. Together that is 20–40% of the price which you save or redirect into better-quality materials.

How much do you actually overpay at a furniture showroom?

It is hard to give a single figure — it depends on the brand and model. But we can give indicative ranges from our practice (customers who compared offers before ordering with us):

Type of kitchen Price at the manufacturer (Furnipark) Typical price at a furniture showroom Difference
Kitchen 4–5 linear metres, laminated fronts from PLN 19,999 PLN 26,000–32,000 PLN 6,000–12,000
Kitchen 5–6 linear metres, lacquered fronts PLN 22,000–38,000 PLN 32,000–52,000 PLN 10,000–14,000
Premium kitchen with an island PLN 40,000–70,000 PLN 55,000–90,000+ PLN 15,000–20,000+

These are real figures from conversations with customers — not marketing approximations. For a mid-range kitchen the difference is PLN 10,000–14,000. For that money you can take lacquer instead of laminate, quartz conglomerate instead of postforming, Blum soft-close instead of standard fittings.

What do you gain beyond a lower price?

A lower price is the most easily calculable benefit. But there are more.

The manufacturer's direct accountability

When something doesn't fit after installation — you call us. The factory that made it. Not a showroom that will call the distributor, who will call the manufacturer and give you a date in 6 weeks.

As the manufacturer we take full responsibility for every element: carcasses, fronts, fittings, installation. One company, one point of contact, one commitment. In over 20 years in business we resolve complaints ourselves — without shifting responsibility.

A design tailored to your flat — not to a display

A furniture showroom mainly sells what it has on display or in the catalogue. Any modifications — an additional cost and complications. With a manufacturer the design starts from your flat: dimensions, angles, windows, connections, habits. Every kitchen is different, because every flat is different.

Own production = quality control

We produce in Elbląg. We control every stage ourselves: cutting the boards, edging, routing, lacquering the fronts, fitting the hardware. We don't subcontract, we don't buy ready-made elements from random suppliers. We know exactly what goes into your home.

Transparency of the quote

At a furniture showroom the price often "is what it is" — with an unclear justification. With us every item of the quote is itemised: carcasses, fronts, worktop, fittings, transport, installation. You know what you are paying for and can consciously decide where to raise the standard and where to save.

When does a furniture showroom make sense after all?

Honesty matters — we will answer fairly.

A furniture showroom makes sense when:

  • You want to touch the materials and see the display in person — we have a factory in Elbląg, where we welcome you for a visit, but we don't have a showroom in the Tri-City. We send front samples by post, but we don't have a physical display in every city.
  • You care about a specific recognised brand (e.g. Ikea for the price, Valcucine for the design) — these brands don't sell through individual manufacturers.
  • You need a very short lead time and the given brand has ready-made modular products — although even here a bespoke manufacturer is often no slower.

If you care about a kitchen tailored to your flat, with real accountability and without overpaying for middlemen's margins — a bespoke manufacturer is the better option.

Frequently asked questions

Can I compare Furnipark's price with a furniture showroom's offer?

Yes, and we encourage it. Ask the showroom for a detailed cost estimate with each item itemised. Then ask us for a quote on similar parameters. The difference will be visible — and you will be able to judge what exactly you get (or don't get) for that difference at the showroom.

Is there a warranty from the manufacturer?

Yes. We provide the manufacturer's warranty on carcasses, fronts and fittings. The warranty terms are set out in the contract. You will find details in the article: Warranty on a bespoke kitchen — what it covers →

What does the design look like and how long does it take?

We prepare the 3D design within 3–7 working days after receiving the dimensions and preferences. We send it by email. Corrections — until you are happy. We describe the whole project schedule here: How long does it take to make a bespoke kitchen →

Can I come to the factory and see the materials?

Yes — you are welcome in Elbląg (ul. Słonecznikowa 10) during Mon–Fri 8:00–16:00. You can see samples of fronts, worktops and fittings. Please contact us by phone in advance.

Does the price include transport and installation to the Tri-City?

Yes. Transport and installation are included in the final price. No per-kilometre charges are added for projects in the Tri-City.
